As soon as it gets colder outside and even drops below freezing, it means dry skin and hands. Furthermore, during the dark and cold season, we tend to snuggle up and hide under thick sweaters. The heating dries out the air indoors, while the icy cold outside means the air holds less moisture and also becomes dry. Although exercise boosts our mood, it's especially difficult to motivate ourselves to leave the house if we don't absolutely have to.
At WALTZ7 , we stand for wellness , which for us means feeling completely good, inside and out . Proper care is especially important for face and hands in winter, while exercise keeps us not only fit but also healthy. That's why we're preparing tips here on how to get through winter feeling fit, motivated , and radiant .
1. Moisture from inside and outside
The colder the temperatures, the less sebum the skin produces. Sebum protects the skin from drying out , but this natural protective film is reduced in winter. Therefore, we recommend plenty of moisture for the entire body. Especially for the face and hands , it's time to apply cream . Another tip from us: humidify the air in your home with humidifiers . This is especially beneficial for your respiratory system and your overall well-being!

But you can also counteract dryness from the inside by drinking enough fluids , even in winter. This way, you are also supplied with moisture from within .
2. Caution with water-based creams
Although proper skincare is sometimes the most important thing in winter, you should be especially careful . Particularly in sub-zero temperatures, creams containing (a lot of) water can cause frostbite . This also applies to lip balms , as lips are especially vulnerable and quickly become painfully chapped.

What we often forget is sun protection . The sun can damage the skin even on cloudy days, and snow reflects the light, thus intensifying its effects.
3. Please don't make it too hot!
Thorough cleansing of the skin is essential before any skincare routine. It's important to use lukewarm water, as hot water can be harsh and dry . Excessive water intake, such as long baths, can also dry out the skin. A relaxing or invigorating shower— not too hot and not too long—with the aroma of our shower bombs can work wonders . This protects the skin, and you can even reuse the shower bomb after a short shower.
4. Motivation
Although it's difficult to motivate yourself to go out into the cold and often dark weather, we should still exercise in winter. Especially when it's cold, it sounds tempting to snuggle up on the couch under a blanket and do work from there. Our tip : exercise before or right after work, so you're already outside and won't be tempted to start a TV series marathon on the couch.

5. Get fit for winter
In winter, we need a good mood and endorphins to go through life in a more cheerful mood. Sport and exercise are just the thing: during a workout (even if it's just a long walk), the body releases more endorphins . These feel-good hormones put us in a good mood and help combat grumpiness. Exercising with friends is even more fun , plus it's harder to cancel and you have fewer excuses. Winter offers a variety of outdoor activities, whether it's ice skating, a snowball fight, or sledding – the main thing is to get moving! Bonus : it also helps overcome the guilt from indulging over the holidays.
6. Immune boost
Taking a walk in the fresh air can work wonders : it improves blood circulation in the skin, gives you rosy cheeks, and best of all – it strengthens your immune system . Even a short walk can lift your spirits and wake you up when you need to be energized .
