Why creative minds shower more often

You probably know the feeling – as soon as you step into the shower and the warm water cascades over you, your routine kicks into autopilot. First soap your left armpit, then the right, or vice versa? Whatever the case, we can practically shower in our sleep, and we don't have to think about it anymore. Our brain therefore has time to wander to other thoughts... and bam... a flash of inspiration.

According to Scott Barry Kaufmann, author of the book "Wired to Create" , 72 percent of people have their My best ideas come in the shower. That's quite a high number of "aha!" moments.

And that's easily explained. Because we're not just experienced showerers, but:

1) We are in a confined, safe place when showering

2) Warm water has a pleasantly calming and relaxing effect on most people.

3) We are (mostly at least ;) ) alone, without being disturbed or distracted.
